English edition of the Revista Española de Defensa number 17
The collaboration of the Armed Forces in support of the population affected by the DANA that devastated the province of Valencia at the end of November is the cover story of number 17 of the English edition of the Revista Española de Defensa. It reports on the work carried out by 8,500 troops and more than 2,000 means of aid to help the affected areas return to normal. The information is complemented by an article by the Minister of Defence, Margarita Robles.
This issue also includes the deployment in Slovakia, where Spain is leading a multinational NATO brigade on the eastern flank for the first time. In addition, two reports are offered, one on Pacific Skies 2024, which has taken the Air Forces of Spain, Germany and France on a raid across four continents, and another on the Air Deployment Support Squadron (EADA), whose members are the first to arrive at the theater of operations.
The results of the last NATO Summit in Washington, which commemorated the 75th anniversary of the founding Treaty, are analysed by Colonel Diego Alcolea. Also, Navy Captain Ricardo Valdés writes about the role of nuclear weapons in the current strategic scenario in opinion pages.
Finally, the presentation of the IV edition of the International Defence and Security Fair of Spain (FEINDEF), which will be held from 12 to 14 May 2025, is reported.
